Medicare is our nation’s health insurance program for people aged 65 and older. People with disability or with kidney failure are eligible to apply.
Eligibility
A person aged 65 and older, receiving benefits from Social Security or the Railroad Retirement BoardAutomatic eligibility
A person under age 65 and disabled for 24 months
A person with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig’s disease), receiving Social Security disability benefits
A person of any age with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) requiring dialysis or a kidney transplantEligible to apply
